Born in China’s Greater Bay Area and raised in the city of Shenzhen, Gerrard got his first taste of racing through his father, who introduced him to motorsports. After participating in a kart testing session, Gerrard’s appetite for the sport was unlocked.

He began his racing career in 2015, quickly making a name for himself in karting competitions throughout Asia. By 2020, he was already a standout in the IAME Asia Junior Series, finishing P3 in the finals—a crucial step towards the next milestone in his career.
 
Building upon his exceptional performance, Gerrard broke into the world of single-seaters in 2022, where he conquered the F4 Chinese Championship with an impressive 12 wins. This victory was just the beginning, as it served as a crucial stepping stone to begin racing in more demanding competitions overseas, especially within Europe.

Transitioning to the GB3 Championship successfully showcased his ability to adapt to new environments, more powerful cars, and fiercer competition. In only his first season in 2023, the then GB3 rookie secured one race win that earned him a coveted promotion to the elite Hitech Pulse-Eight racing team. 

This paved the way for additional success he encountered just one year later, as he secured double pole positions and a win in Hungary in 2024, further cementing his status as a global racing threat.

Through his skillset and ability to adapt under pressure, Gerrard rightfully earned his seat in Formula 3 with the same top team. This is a significant milestone which shows his rapid progress and potential in the world of single-seater racing.

Gerrard’s journey sees him continuing to advance to higher heights of motorsport, proving no challenge is impossible with constant determination and consistent efforts, no matter what obstacle he faces. The young driver is further committed towards refining his craft - fueled by his laser-sharp focus and ambition to reach the ranks of Formula One.
